Juice Reboot Round 2 and Going Vegan?

Image
Yes. That's correct. I am announcing it here to keep myself accountable during this journey! I have been asked a few questions so I will answer them here. Why now? Don't you plan on getting pregnant again?  -why not now is my question? There is no better time than the present! Of course, we plan to TTC again as soon as I am allowed after the MC. Which makes now an even better time to get started. I start now, in 3 months my body will be adjusted to the new lifestyle. I'm sure our future bun will thank me for it too.  The juice reboot didn't work the first time you tried it. Why try it again? - losing weight didn't work the first time I tried it either. Had I not tried again I would still be 220lbs. See where I am going here? Also, unknown to me at the time I was actually pregnant when I tried the reboot the first time. Which would probably explain the extreme fatigue and body aches I was experiencing. Which is what made it so difficult for me.

Where I am on my journey.

Halfway through the 21 Day Fix program, I started having some pregnancy complications and was told not to work out until the symptoms went away. That lasted about a week before I unfortunately miscarried and was not allowed to workout for another week while my body went through the process.  I still ate clean, drank my shakeology and juiced during this. Sure, I found myself comfort eating from time to time but, it was in moderation.  Since it had been a couple of weeks I decided to start over from the beginning instead of picking up where I left off.  Its pretty crazy how quickly your body can change in 2 weeks time. My stamina was not what it was before. My muscles definitely lost their strength because man, was I sore after my first work out back! Hurts so good ;)  So, follow along over the next 21 days to see my results with the 21 day fix! Well, 21 days from Monday. This week I am working on building my stamina back up so by Monday my body will be ready to take this prog

Home Made Veggie Burgers

Image
Ask and you shall receive! Last night I posted on my Facebook page about these bad boys and everyone was wanting the recipe so, here ya go! Call these veggie burgers or bean burgers. Whatever, they have both and they are fabulous!  So here's what you will need.  1 chopped onion 1 cup chopped or shredded carrots 1/2 cup cilantro  1 can canellini beans  3 eggs or 6 TBS corn starch (for full veggie/vegan patties) 2 teaspoons sea salt  1 tablespoon minced garlic 1/2 tablespoon onion powder  1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper  1 tablespoon Worcester sauce  2 cups of oats  Combine onion, carrots, beans, cilantro in food processor. Mix until well processed. Add in remaining ingredients and process until well processed.  Heat olive oil or avocado oil in a pan. For smaller patties use 1/3 cup, for larger patties use 1/2 cup and add to pan. Cook on each side 4-6 minutes.  Enjoy!  Clean veggie/vegan burgers for half the cost and half (even less!) the c

No One Knows How Much I Cried That Day

Life It is going on whether I am ready for it or not. I wanted time to freeze. To be left totally alone, no talking, no work, no nothing. Just be left totally alone and wrap my head around what was happening. I jumped back to routine way too fast.  I thought I could handle it. I thought it would help me feel normal again. All it did was set me back. I didn't have proper time to heal physically or emotionally. I needed more time. My advice, let life happen around but, take as much time as you need. Do not rush back routine. You're only going to be hurting yourself in the long run. Work can wait a few extra days, household chores can wait a few days, errands can wait.. You need to take the time to take care of you otherwise you will never be able to heal properly.  Words People will say many different things to you. Some said with a hint of spite, some rude, some hurtful. Most though, are meant to comfort you. Do not take what people say to heart. Most people are s

Immense Joy Turned To Immense Heartbreak. Our Angel Baby.

Many of you following my weight loss journey have seen me briefly talk about a struggle with fertility. Those who know me IRL have often asked me "when are you going to have another one?". The answer to that question always left an akward "hopefully soon". Truth is, we have been trying to get pregnant for almost 2 years now. Those 2 years of negative after negative finally seemed to be all worth it. We saw our first positive since our sweet Savannah's positive. We were finally pregnant and so incredibly happy. We cried tears of joy. It seemed so surreal to finally be happening for us! Not having had a thyroid problems with my first pregnancy, I was naturally a little concerned the effect it could have in this pregnancy. After some googling, I was even more concerned. (Tip to the preggo ladies, stay off the Internet. Just stay off. Don't do it!) I called my OB and got an appointment set up and then called my endocrinologist so they could start monitor

It's not just what you're eating, It's also whats eating you.

I find that statement to be so profound. It really does nail it right on. So many people have the notion that overweight people are just too lazy to do anything about. That really couldn't be further from the truth for many people who struggle with their weight. "It's not just what you are eating, It's also what is eating you."- Kris Carr What void are you trying to fill with food? Do you have some past traumas that need attending, are you in a dead end job, are you in a bad relationship? etc These are all things that can cause people to over eat. It's not because they are lazy or don't care about themselves, it is because they trying to fill a void with food. It all goes back to that time of childhood. When you were sick, or had a bad day, or had something awful going on in your life (maybe a family or pets death, moving, starting the first day of school etc) what did your mom do for you? Make you that comfort meal. When you stayed at your gran

Home made almond milk and what to do with the pulp!

Image
We are family of almond milk drinkers. We go through it so fast it is pretty ridiculous. Lol through out this weight loss and health journey I have been seeking out new ways to improve the foods we normally use. Almond milk as a whole, blows cows milk out of the water. It has more calcium and lower calories naturally than cows milk has. On top of that, almond milk is missing the steroids and any antibiotics from the cows milk. So, the choice to go with almond milk is an easy one! However, store bought almond milk is no exception to typical commercialized ingredients. So, I went searching for ways to improve the already healthier choice of drinking almond milk to make it even healthier. Which is how I was turned on to home made almond. Here's how What you'll need: 1 cup of almonds 3 cups of water  1 tsp pure vanilla extract  1 tsp raw honey  Juicer  How you do it: First you need to take 1 cup of almonds and place them in a bowl of 3 cups of water.
