Vacation vacation vacation..

Ahh where do I start here? Who doesn't love going on a vacation or a short trip etc.

While we were so excited to go, we were so nervous! This was our first trip away from Savannah. What made it even harder to leave her, she came down with a stomach bug a day before we left.
Luckily, it only lasted that night and by the morning she wasn't getting sick anymore. With her persistence, off she went to her grandparents

We hit the road to the mountains. We picked a good time to go since school wasn't out for the year yet and it was just a little before typical vacation season, it wasn't overly crowded! The hotel was pretty empty which we loved lol.

Bla bla bla break it down to the fun stuff!

The night we got in we just had dinner, went to the winery for a free tasting and then walked around the town since it was so quiet! It was so lovely!

Our first full day we went to Dollywood! The first time we were im TN together I was pregnant and I wasn't  able to ride anything. So, this time we wanted to be sure to go! It was a lot of fun! I'm so used to the rides we have locally at bush gardens so it was fun to mix it up lol
With the days getting longer we had plenty of time after Dollywood to do some more exploring around. Went to the old mill, a locals distillery for free tastings, then hit up the strip in Gatlinburg for dinner, more distilleries (so much free moonshine lol) and just taking in couple time out of the house! Lol
The next day was the highlight of the trip for us! We were most excited for this lol. Maybe it's because we already live in a tourist area the typical attractions didn't appeal to us. We wanted to do something we couldn't do at home. So, we went white water rafting! Gah it was the best!!! We signed up for a zip lining and rafting combo. We did zip lining first but we weren't able to have our phones with us so we didn't get any pictures of it. We met some really awesome couples on their honeymoons. We all zip lined and had lunch together before rafting.
Rafting we got put on separate boats from our lining buddies but that worked out too because we got a boat of equally awesome people too lol. Because I was so afraid of flying out of the raft I locked my feet into that raft so tightly I thought my toe nails would fall off haha it earned me the new nick name "Eagle Feet" by the couple in the front. In fact, we hit level 4 current and the guy fell back and bc of my "eagle feet" I was able to keep him in the raft lol he offered me a steak dinner at the Peddler haha.. I'm going on and on here but really.. This was the most fun we had and we met really great people so I have a lot to say on it haha! I'll let the picture speak for itself though!
After rafting we went back to the hotel to get cleaned up and hit up the island for some night time fun! We promised Savannah a present so we also went to build a bear to make her a smokey mountain teddy while we were at the island!
By the next morning we both woke up reallllllllly missing Savannah! So, we tried to keep busy to feel better by hitting up the national park for some mountain hiking! It was so pretty and exhausting lol. Hiking up a mountain is a lot harder than we had anticipated haha. It was so worth it though. Gorgeous mountain views, waterfalls, wild life, and original mountain folk houses from the 1800s! I was hoping to see a bear but, we didn't. I did make a deer friend so that was cool too!
So this sign was pretty cool! Going into these old buildings was cool but, a lot of the graffiti and name carvings ruins it. Not to rant here but seriously folks, it's not cute. It's not funny. Its defacing history and protected places. It's illegal and just not cool. So please, if you insist on writing your name on something, do it in the dirt ugh a stick and call it a day! Don't selfishly ruin history over it!
Anyways- lol. After our hike we cleaned up and decided that we were going to head home the next morning. We did everything we wanted and we were so ready to see Savannah! So, after hiking we went to our special restaraunt where we ate our wedding dinner. Drove by our chapel where we got married, hit up another winery, and rode a mountain roller coaster! It was scary fast and really just cool! Lol well worth the money to ride it!
The next morning we took our time packing up, went out to breakfast and hit up a few shops before hitting the road! On the way in, I saw the bush's bean factory had cut outs by the building so on the way out I wanted to stop to take silly pictures with the cut outs haha
After that we hit the road and headed home!
Really really sad to leave our happy place but, excited to see to our gal and puppy. We got back too late to pick up Savannah that night but we did get the pup.

The next morning we got our girl!! Gah, it felt so good to see her! She came running to me and squeezed me so tighti could barely get a breath but I didn't care lol. She missed us so badly and we missed her!
Vacation was a blast but, I don't foresee a trip without our girl with us anytime soon lol.

Sadly, we feel homesick for the mountains! How can you feel homesick for a place that was never our home?! Ugh. Maybe one day we will end up there!
Until next time Tennessee!
