Transformation Tuesday!

Image
I've shown you so many before and after full body shots of myself I wanted to share a different one. It is easy to see a difference in your waste etc but, it's less noticed (well, paid attention to when discussing transformations) in your face! Haha in yo face! Ok, I'm done being immature now.. Moving on ;)  My husband and I do everything together. We are that obnoxiously (I'll say adorable but, I'm biased) sickening couple. We have done everything from gaining weight to losing weight together. Looking at our transformations together is such an eye opener! (He really does love me no matter my size ;) ) I never noticed how different the extra weight on my face made me look. Until I compared close ups. My entire face from eyes, to cheeks, to mouth and overall color has changed so much! I feel like I look like an entirely different person! Which was proven true when I ran into one of my neighbors at the store and she said "oh my goodness Ashley! I di

21 Day Fix Week 2!

Image
Week 2 on the 21 Day Fix: What did I lose? -1lb -2 inches   Which is actually an impressive result for 2 reasons. 1. I had 2 bad food days at the beginning of the week. I worked all week to correct that but, this brings us to reason 2. 2. I found myself doing some late night snacking over the   weekend. See, I make mistakes too! I still managed to get some results this week despite my bad eating so that in itself was a huge deal! I'm happy the fix still have me results despite my bad eating but, I am not happy with myself. Knowing I still lost 1bs I can't help but wonder how good my results would have been had I eaten better! This week, no cheating! We all have weeks we fall off or eat badly. What's important is trying to correct it and do better the next day! So, obviously what did work for me this week was the eating. That is where I struggled the most. I by no means blame the program for this, it was 100% my fault. I did not follow the correct eating and i

Mashed Cauliflower Recipe

Image
I have tried to mastered mashed cauliflower for years now. I have never been fooled that it tastes like the real thing. I thought it was just another myth until I tried one last thing... And guess what?! No myth! Just took the right ingredients! So what was the magic ingredient? Something I never would have thought of? (to be honest, I'm not very creative at all when it comes to cooking. Just not my thing) Chicken broth! Random right? I don't even care, it gave it the flavor I was looking for so, I'll take it! It fooled our daughter and she loved them so... Kid approved! Ok, I'm done running my mouth let's get to the recipe. Serves 2-3 - 1/2 head cauliflower  - 1/2 tablespoon butter  - 1/4 cup chicken broth  - garlic powder  - splash of milk (I usually skip this but, it's an option) Cut cauliflower into florets. Put 2 TBSP water in microwave safe bowl. Add florets. Microwave for 10 minutes. Add cooked cauliflower and other i

What keeps me motivated!

Image
I get asked a lot "what motivated you to get started and what keeps you motivated?". I honestly have many "reasons" why I started but, those reasons weren't my motivation. They were just facts for example, I didn't feel good. Not feeling go ... od didn't really motivate me, it just made me want to lay in bed. What really motivated me is quite simple, my husband and daughter. What example was I setting for my daughter with the way I was eating? She was learning her eating habits from me, it is my job to teach her to eat healthy and how to take of herself. It's hard to teach that when you yourself are doing the exact opposite. I was so heavy and miserable I didn't have the energy to chase after her constantly and to play. All she wanted was her mommy to run around outside playing hide and seek with her but, her mommy was to uncomfortable to do it because she wasn't taking care of her body. Serious mommy guilt there! It wasn't fa

21 Day Fix Week 1 Results!

Image
So, I finally decided to fully commit to the 21 day fix. I would start it before and skip workouts and didn't follow the meal plan because it was different than what was in my comfort zone. T25 has been my go to workout for months now! I didn't want to switch away from my time with Shaun T! But, all good things must come to an end! I had been seeing so many awesome transformations from the 21 Day Fix so, I decided it was time for the switch and time to commit fully to it! Boy am I glad I did! I not only stepped outside my comfort zone I got stronger and got awesome results from it! So. My week 1 stats: -3.8 lbs -4.5 inches  -4% body fat. Wait what?! I lost all of that in a week?! Yep! I certainly did! Where I struggled the most: 💠Weights with cardio I had a little bit of a hard time. Not because it wasn't doable but, because I quickly discovered I lost proper form with the weights when I was doing a cardio move. So, making a more cons

Staying on track on the weekends!

Image
I know the weekends are the hardest to stay on track! Especially when there are special occasions added into them. Like this past weekend with Mother's Day! I will admit I too get lost in the weekend shuffle and sometimes make poor eating decisions. I do however pay for those decisions the next day! But, I have found several ways to beat those times or at least minimize the damage. Here are my weekend tips for staying on track and not ruining your week of good! 1. Don't skip your workouts!! I know I know, who wants to get up early on a Saturday to workout?! Not many people, me included. I do it anyway. If I don't have plans I will sleep in still and then do my workout whenever I get up. You just need to make sure you get them done! You are less likely to make poor choices in the kitchen when you do your workouts, also exercise is a natural appetite suppressant! 2. Have a plan! Plan your weekend! If you know you are going to hibachi for dinner one ni

Over night oats! Perfect summer breakfast!

Image
Summer is rolling around so, I thought I would share with you all one of my favorite summer time breakfasts. I don't know about you all but, when it's hot out I don't want to eat anything hot. Generally, if it isn't in smoothie from I have no interest during summer months. Until I discovered overnight oats that is! Oatmeal is extremely healthy on many levels but importantly, it keeps you full! Only problem with oatmeal is it's more of a winter meal. Well, get ready oatmeal lovers because you are in for a treat!  What you will need: Mason Jar with lid 1/2 cup Old fashioned rolled or steal cut oats 1/2 cup Almond milk (I prefer to use vanilla almond milk.) I have also seen folks use Greek yogurt instead of milk. Both work so it's really a matter of preference. 1 tsp of Chia Seeds Whatever fruits or flavors you want to add Pour 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 milk, 1 tsp chia seeds into mason jar. Put lid on and shake it up. Then add in whatever othe

Happy Mother's Day!

Image
Cheers to all the moms out there! Biological, adoptive and angel mommys. This is a day about moms! No matter how you became a mom, this is your day and you should be celebrated! For shaping the future because, children are our future :) Becoming a mom was the absolute greatest gift I have ever been given. It is truly a special honor!  I always knew I wanted to be a mom some day but, I had no idea just how amazing it would really be! Savannah is the light in our lives and we are so blessed to have her. I am thankful for being a mom and even more thankful and proud to be the mom of such an amazing little girl! I am also saddened but proud to be an angel mommy as well! One day, I will get hold our angel baby since that day is not today, I will squeeze my baby here extra tight!  I know many people find Mother's Day be a "Hallmark holiday". I read this article by more4kids.info and thought it described the importance of Mother's Day so perfectly!  "Perhaps one of the

Promoted! What is a beachbody coach?

Image
Today I got promoted! Which I am happy about because it shows I have worked hard to grow my business and I am proud of how I have done it so far! When I posted about it though it got me thinking, many people don't really understand what I mean when I say I am a coach. To make short and sweet, a coach... Coaches!  When someone wants to start a new team beachbody program, try shakeology, or just learn about my healthy lifestyle I help coach them through it. I help to keep them motivated, on track, give them meal plans complete with recipes and shopping lists, teach them about clean eating, help them modify some workouts if they are struggling, help match them to right program for their needs.. I help take the guess work out weight loss and getting fit. The list really goes on. Basically, I help people who want to get healthy, lose weight, build muscle or simply just add in a workout routine.  See, when someone buys a program, shakeology etc through me they are gettin

Sweet potato chips recipe!

Image
I tend to get snacky after dinner. Not actually hunger, just that nagging urge to eat. I found these to be the amazing combination of salty but sweet and the best part is, they're healthy!! Only about 115 calories!  Oh yeah, made in the microwave! I know what you're thinking too, the answer is no! They are not soggy, they really crispy! Ingredients  1 sweet potato  Sea salt  Canola oil cooking spray  Directions  Wash sweet potato and peel (if desired, I left the peel on). Slice into thin slices. Use parchment paper on microwave save plate and put slices on the paper. Lightly spray canola Oil cooking spray on then. Lightly sprinkle sea salt on too.  Microwave for 4-5 minutes.  Enjoy! Do eye them because they can burn easily, I burnt a few. Lol oops
