Chips and Salsa? Yes please!
Looking for a clean, home made alternative to the traditional chips and salsa?! You have come to the right place then!
Following the 21 day fix meal plan I have been very cautious of what I eat and to make sure I'm aware of the ingredients I am putting into my body! If you ever read a salsa label you would be surprised to see sugar or high fructose corn syrup in it! Really?! In salsa! So, inspired by my uncles home made salsa I started thinking up of a good recipe with the chips to compliment it!
Home made tortilla chips and salsa. What you'll need:
๐ Corn Tortillas
๐ Cooking Spray
๐ Sea Salt
๐ 3 Tomatoes
๐ 1 Bunch of Cilantro
๐ 2 White Onions
๐ 4-5 Jalepenos (taste preference)
๐ 3 Garlic Cloves
๐ 1 Green Pepper
To make the chips:
Take corn tortillas and slice into 6ths. (You can use a knife but a pizza cutter works fabulous too). Lay on baking sheet and spritz with cooking spray. Lightly sprinkle sea salt on top and put in the over and broil on low for 5 minutes or until chips looks crisp.
Let cool and enjoy!
To make the salsa:
Slice pepper and Jalepenos and clean out the middle. Then Combine all ingredients (see list above) in a food processor (or blender) and process until your desired texture. Viola!
Home made salsa and chips to enjoy!
It is football season, perfect for football Sunday!
The salsa would be 1 green container and the chips (2 corn tortilla equivalent) would be 1 yellow container!
